ACD and SAISD Begin New Partnership

The Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees and the San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees along with the Texas Education Agency have approved a new SB 1882 Partnership launching the Alamo Collegiate Network (ACN) beginning with the 2020-2021 school year.

Senate Bill 1882, passed in 2017, allows school districts to enter into partnerships with charter schools, institutes of higher education, or other entities to expand program opportunities to students. Under the Partnership Agreement with SAISD, Alamo Colleges District assumes management of:

Additional funding to support the partnership is provided to SAISD through the Texas Education Agency and distributed to each of the three partner campuses and to Alamo Colleges District as defined within the Partnership Agreement.

Accountability & Performance Metrics

clipboard iconOutlined within the Partnership Agreement are performance metrics ACN must meet for each partner high school. SAISD will review ACN performance annually and evaluate the partnership for continuation after three years as defined by the performance metrics within the Partnership Agreement.

Key Performance Metrics include measures within three domains:
  • Academic Excellence
  • Organizational Strength
  • Financial Health

ACN Board of Trustees

In accordance with SB 1882 guidelines, the Alamo Collegiate Network is governed by a Board of Trustees. The ACN Board will meet four times over the course of the academic year to address the accountability and governance components of the partnership.

ACN Board meetings will follow the Texas Open Meetings Act. Board meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on this page.

ACN Board Meetings and Agendas

As permitted by the Texas Governor’s declaration on March 16, 2020, governmental bodies may conduct meetings by telephone or video conference to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings. The Board Meetings are being conducted by telephone conference and video conference. The meetings are accessible to the public and allow the public to participate via telephonically and video conference by calling the telephone number and accessing the video link printed on the agenda.
